How does using my HSA/FSA save me money?
HSA/FSA accounts were created so individuals could use pre-tax money to pay for expenses used to treat, mitigate, or prevent a diagnosed medical condition. Because HSA/FSAs use pre-tax money, you’re getting more purchasing power for your dollars. Rather than pay taxes on income and then spend it on health items, qualified customers can use pre-tax funds to invest in root cause interventions.
Who is Truemed?
Common Questions
What are FSA and HSA accounts?
HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) are pre-tax health benefit accounts that may be used to purchase eligible health products. Vitruvi has partnered with Truemed to enable qualified customers to use their HSA/FSA funds on eligible purchases. Eligibility depends on individual circumstances and is determined by an independent licensed practitioner through a clinical intake form at checkout.
Can I use my HSA/ FSA at Vitruvi?
Add eligible products to your cart and proceed to checkout. Select “Pay with Truemed” as your payment method, then complete a clinical intake form. If the practitioner determines medical necessity, a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is issued and your HSA/FSA payment is processed.
Can I split payment between HSA/FSA and a credit card?
Yes. If your HSA/FSA balance does not cover the full purchase amount, you can pay the remainder with a credit or debit card during checkout.
What if I'm not approved?
If the practitioner does not determine medical necessity, you can complete your purchase with a standard payment method or reapply at a later date.
How long does it take for me to receive my Letter of Medical Necessity?
Generally it takes 2-5 hours. In some cases, Truemed’s provider team will require additional time to issue a letter of medical necessity based on the needs associated with an individual qualification survey. If you aren’t seeing your letter in your inbox, check spam, then reach out to True Med Support at support@truemed.com for help
I don’t have an HSA/FSA. Can I still benefit from Truemed?
Truemed is only available to those with an HSA or FSA account. If you don't have one, you can check with your employer’s HR or benefits department about enrollment options, typically during open enrollment. Truemed cannot help customers open or fund an HSA/FSA account.
I don’t live in the US. Can I still get reimbursed with Truemed?
Truemed is only available in the United States.
